光陰矢の如し、2024年（令和6年）も最終月。今回は紅葉を求めて旧古河庭園に足を運んだ。紅葉の時期がだいぶ遅くなったようだが、心字池脇から絶景を眺めることができた。

Time flies. The year 2024 (Reiwa 6) is already in its final month. This time, I visited Kyu-Furukawa Gardens in search of autumn leaves. It seems that the foliage season has been delayed quite a bit but I was able to enjoy a breathtaking view from the side of the Shinji Pond.

42. 初日の出：お台場からの東京レインボーブリッジ

42. First Sunrise of the Year: Tokyo Rainbow Bridge from Odaiba

元旦、お台場に足を運んだ。日の出と共に東京レインボーブリッジが赤みを帯び周囲が明るくなった。新年の始まりだ。今年は巳年。巳（蛇）は、復活と再生の象徴。財運や繁栄を象徴するものとも言われる。

On New Year’s Day, I visited Odaiba. As the sun rose, the Tokyo Rainbow Bridge took on a reddish hue and the surroundings gradually brightened. A new year has begun. This year is the Year of Snake. Snake is a symbol of resurrection and renewal. It is also said to represent wealth and prosperity.

43. 夜の帳と富士

43. Night’s Veil and Mount Fuji

冬、関東地方は非常に乾燥し、晴天が続く。夜の帳が降りる中、富士山周辺の夕焼けが素晴らしかった。

During winter, the Kanto region is exceptionally dry, with clear skies continuing day after day. As night’s veil descended, the sunset around Mount Fuji was breathtaking.

44. 満開の花桃

44. Full Blooming Peach Blossoms

神社に行くと花桃がちょうど満開になるところだった。桃の節句も過ぎたが花桃の季節はこれから。桜もすばらしいが、花桃もいい、色が濃い。

When I visited the shrine, the peach blossoms were just coming into full bloom. Though the Peach Festival has already passed, the season for peach blossoms is just beginning. Cherry blossoms are wonderful but peach blossoms are also lovely—their colors are rich and vibrant.

久しぶりに静岡に出かけた。真っ白な富士山を眺めながら満開の桜を楽しんだ。雲の流れがすごかった。昔、新社会人生活を開始した原点も見てきた。時が経つのは早いものだ。

I took a trip to Shizuoka for the first time in a while and enjoyed the cherry blossoms in full bloom while gazing at the snow-capped Mount Fuji. The flow of the clouds was breathtaking. Revisiting the place where I once began my journey as a young professional, I feel time truly flies.

46. 荒川ドナウ通りの満開のサツキ

毎年、4月中旬から下旬にかけて荒川ドナウ通りは満開のサツキ通りとなる。今年のサツキも見事だった。

Every year, from mid to late April, Danube Street in Arakawa transforms into a pathway of full-blooming Satsuki azaleas. This year's Satsuki were also magnificent.

朝、カピオラニ公園とビーチを見渡すと緑と青のコントラストが目に飛び込んできた。心地よい風が吹き、木々の間から鳥のさえずりが聴こえてきた。

In the morning, as I gazed over Kapiolani Park and the beach, the contrast of green and blue struck my eyes. A pleasant breeze blew, and the chirping of birds echoed through the trees.

夕暮れの後、ワイキキの夜景を描いてみた。昔に比べるとDFSはだいぶ落ち着いたが、ワイキキは今も多くの観光客で賑わうオアフ島一のリゾートエリアだ。

After sunset, I painted the night view of Waikiki. Compared to the past, DFS has become much quieter, but Waikiki is still the most vibrant resort area on Oahu, bustling with many tourists.

I painted the compositional beauty of island flowers and leaves, focusing on Anthuriums and Red Gingers. The vibrant spirit of tropical Hawai‘i quietly breathes.

今月はサイズが小さいので2枚描きました。Since the canvas size is smaller than usual, I painted two this month.

真夏の陽射しが照りつける8月、不忍池付近を歩くと、蓮が池面を埋め尽くすように咲き誇っていた。池を覆うほどの大きな葉と堂々と咲く花が、夏の生命の輝きを見せていた。

In the blazing heat of August, a walk around Shinobazu Pond reveals lotuses in full bloom, covering the water’s surface with vibrant life. Towering leaves and majestic blossoms shimmer under the summer sun, embodying the brilliance of the season.

新宿御苑を訪れた。今年は蝉の声が限定的だ。いつもの賑やかさがない。整えられたばかりの庭園から見上げると青空に壮大な雲が広がっていた。

I visited Shinjuku Gyoen. This year, the cicadas' voices were sparse—missing the usual lively chorus. Looking up from the freshly arranged garden, I saw magnificent clouds stretching across the blue sky.

大宮駅から徒歩15分ほど、氷川神社を訪れた。残暑の中、ひっそりと佇む楼門が目に焼き付いた。きっと何かいいことがありますよ。

Just a short 15-minute walk from Omiya Station, I found myself at Hikawa Shrine. In the lingering summer heat, the Great Gate stood in quiet solitude, leaving a vivid imprint on my heart. Something good is near—waiting quietly beyond the silence.

In October, as the long-awaited coolness finally arrived, I visited Toneri Park, Tokyo. Strolling through the wide-open park, the panorama from the great pond offered a sense of the vast, open sky.

何年ぶりだろう、絵画展（春日大社）に参加のため、奈良を訪れた。高校（横浜）の修学旅行以来だ。春日山原始林を臨む晩秋に心を打たれ、描いてみた。

How many years had it been? To take part in an art exhibition at Kasuga Taisha, I visited Nara again—for the first time since my high school trip from Yokohama. Moved by the season’s hush, I painted late autumn, gazing toward the primeval forest of Mount Kasuga.

新年を迎え、ワイキキビーチのサンセットを描いてみた。一日の終わりは、新しい始まりの準備。今日までの感謝、明日への希望を思いに有意義な一年としたい。

I captured the Waikiki sunset to mark the start of the New Year. The end of a day is also a preparation for a new beginning. With gratitude for the past and hope for tomorrow, I wish to make this a meaningful year.

From Oahu, again this time. Capturing the powerful, surging waves unique to Sandy Beach, gently layered with the clarity and quiet of the blue horizon seen from the Halona Lookout.

Walking along the Sumida River, I saw the early-blooming cherry blossoms beginning to open. Even the Mejiro (Japanese white-eyes) seemed to welcome the arrival of spring. What thoughts arise in you as the season turns toward full spring?

Visiting a park under a clear sky, I found spring flowers in full bloom in the flowerbeds. I was moved to capture that overflowing vitality on canvas. For those who love flowers.

新緑の芽吹く、都会の森、自然教育園に足を運んだ。心地よい午後の風に吹かれながら散策すると、ひょうたん池に木々が映り込んでいた。

I visited the Institute for Nature Study, an urban forest where fresh greenery was beginning to bud. While strolling and feeling the pleasant afternoon breeze, I saw the trees reflected in the Hyotan Pond.
